The Cellular Imaging Shared Resource (CISR) is a full-service microscopy laboratory providing access to equipment and technical support for electron, brightfield/fluorescence and confocal/multiphoton microscopy; it is available for both clinical and research purposes.
A mission of the CISR is to provide access to advanced microscopy instruments, technical support for specimen preparation, and scientific guidance in planning and applying advanced microscopy techniques.

| 2. En Bloc OTO Processing ("mito method", fine structure enhancement) |
En bloc osmium-thiocarbohydrazide-osmium (OTO) method is for membrane contrast enhancement. Recommended for fine structural needs, e.g. mitochondria, golgi apperatus, brain tissue, viruses, etc. Includes same all-inclusive package detail as (embedding, sectioning, and one hour of imaging) clinical method.
Requires a special fixative. Please make sure to ask for the En bloc OTO fixative ( 2% glutaraldehyde in 0.1M sodium cacodylate buffer) |
